19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial championship for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in specific - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with former mentor his previous coach.
Currently working with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden championship following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court since that period of the previous year.
The win also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 titles at twenty-one different competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in Halle in the past months.
The player's retrieving approach and frequent reactions on court had led observers to wonder if his skill to perform at the top level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.
He recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his initial professional championship, seized the initiative to force a final set.
Moutet rescued 4 initial break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
