The star has donated the complete sum of his twenty-five thousand pound honor prize money to the trust for venues, which operates to preserve the United Kingdom's independent live music spots.
He was presented with the award on 16 October as his new release his work was named the best record of the past year.
The musician has opted to donate the funds to the MVT, in acknowledgment of the essential function small stages had in his beginning days.
"I wouldn't be doing this success if it wasn't for all the gigs I performed around the area, and beyond, when I was starting out," said Fender. "These venues are iconic, but they are in difficulty."
Beginning in 2023, over 150 of these locations have shut down – roughly one-sixth of the total UK scene.
In the last year, major artists such as Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the MVT in its initiatives to help venues survive, by applying a minor surcharge to their admission fees, which benefits smaller concert halls.
Fender also participated, raising over £100k on his recent tour to assist thirty-eight local spots across England, Scotland, and Wales.
These funds helped spaces that were confronting possible closure due to difficulties caused by water damage, fires and bereavements, as well as licensing issues, conflicts and neighbor objections.
Additional spaces were granted monetary aid in upgrading amenities and technical equipment that helped artists and fans.
"The notion that funds from performances in major spaces backs the local stages, where it all starts for performers like me, is just sensible," Fender has said.
Fender is not the first artist to contribute his award winnings to good deeds.
Back when the band won the award in 1996 for their album their work, frontman Cocker announced that the band would donate their prize money to the organization War Child.
In 2002, musician Ms Dynamite split her award among several organizations, like the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell organization.
"I also gave a £1,000 to Highgate Newtown, to their classes, because I trained in gymnastics when I was growing up and they lacked new equipment," the artist shared with a publication.
Two years ago, the band donated their prize money to the community center that nurtured their band, in addition to other independent music bodies.
Also 1994 winners the group contributed their prize to a charity for MS after a acquaintance was found to have the disease.
"Receiving the award was sufficient," remarked artist Heather Small. "The cash was the extra but we could do without the cherry, because we had the honor. So our success impacted the lives of others."
Recently, the MVT shared it had saved a couple of local spots in the South East, by bringing them into local control.
One venue in that area and The Croft in that location were purchased under the public acquisition initiative, which is backed by the arts council and enthusiasts who purchase "ownership units" in the properties.
